Still waiting for my blood results to come back but I was just wondering if celiacs symptoms can come on all at once. Like I had been fine 6 weeks ago just had a sensitive stomache to certain foods but now the diarrhea came on and will not stop. I eat and then for an hour or so feel sick but then it passes and I feel hungry again and then the diarrhea hits. UGH just wish I knew something. I called the drs office and they said nothing yet that is takes time for these tests to come back. so wish me luck.
I have really bad anxiety right now the worrying is driving me nuts and I cant go or do anything because of feeling so tired and having to know where a bathroom is. UGH
thanks everyone |

This too has happened to me. It came on all of a sudden like that. seventeen years ago. Not one doctor could figure out what was wrong with me. So needless to say I suffered for a very long time. I was finally diagnosed a few days before Christmas of 2002. What a Christmas present!! I am thankful that i finally know and I can get better. I am still learning how to cope , but getting much better at it. It is taken me a while to accept this because I am so stubborn. I stayed in denial a long time. A word of advice....if you have a denial period try to make it a very short one because you will further damage your small intestine and continue your trips to the bathroom. The blood test usally only take a week to get back to you.
My syptoms were uncontrolable diarrhea. Everything I ate went right through me. I had it after every baby was born. ( I had 5) i suffered for nines months straight after each baby. It was triggered by stress of the new baby. But it was more stress not knowing what was wrong with me. I lost so much weight. i was down to a size 0 after my forth baby. So I believe that yes it can start all at once. It happened to me many times till i was finally diagnosed. email me if you want to chat. i will gladly share to help someone else. If you are celiac, remember this you are not alone . this forum is a good place to start. I am learning so much reading the post.

I also had 4 kids and every time that I had a kid it would act up & my kids are 15 months apart.I think that I damaged my self real bad . I was diagnosed 1 month ago and I 'm not having any relief. my diarreha is still very often & my muscles & bones hurt so bad . I get gas that I can't release. I have been on the gluten free diet since I was diagnosed. I had an endo done Multiple MRI"S, CAT scan's, & X rays now I have to have a colan osc. done. I'm just afraid that I will have cancer. My maternal grandmother had stomach cancer and died at 34. & I'm 38 I just pray every day that It is going to get better.
GOOD LUCK & stick to the gluten free diet |

| you are not alone in your fears.... believe me.. I just had a cat scan today. I am waiting on the results today. I too feel like i am not getting better. but i think that i was just getting a hold of hidden gluten. Now I am on the right track. but I do know that it takes time after years of eating gluten. You were diagnosed one month ago? Give yours self some time to heal some. Also be sure you are not getting hidden gluten. I have learned so much by reading these post and writing down cooking tips along with tips on how to avoid hidden gluten. Hidden gluten might be that bread crumb from sombodys sandwich that they made on the counter. I didn't think that matter much since it was sooo small. but it does especially over time. i think that is why i havent been getting any better. not to mention my few slips. But i have to remember what my husband tells me. Take this one day at a time. Relax. Calming down has a way letting go of some of those fears. pretty soon you will find yourself on the right track. If they can't find nothing in you cat scans and mri's than be thankful and stay gluten free!! Just knowing that you are staying positve and also that you are remaing gluten free will do wonders for your fears. I am trying my hardest to pratice what I am preaching. It is helping me by posting here in the forum ..just getting things out. Let me know how you are doing. Cause it also helps to know if I am helping someone else. well i am hungary right now..going to make me a gleten free pizza. i will be on later bye for now. |

| I always use clorox clean up after someone has made something on the counter or table. so I'm pretty safe at that. I don't cheat But I do miss the gluten foods. I shop at the natural health foods store & an organic store. I have my family eating some gluten free foods to & they like some of it. My oldest daughter was diagnosed with IBM since birth. so I have to watch what she eats. |
