A friend's DH is the executive chef at Marcella's Ristorante in the Short North here in Columbus. It's a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. I was bemoaning the fact that none of the good restaurants in town can do gluten and egg free food, and he said they can and do! When we went, he came out and went through the menu with me personally to say what he could and couldn't make safe for us. They *almost* always have GF penne pasta on hand (I call ahead of time to make sure they do) and neither of us has ever had a reaction there. Lil bit is so sensitive to gluten that she vomited several times when I took a pill that had a tiny amount of gluten in it (she's little and I'm nursing, so she got it through my milk).

When they have an allergy order, the prepare it in a different area of the kitchen, scrubbed pans/counter/etc. The GF pasta takes a little while to come out because they have to cook it to order, but I get a salad caprese to share with DH while waiting for the pasta. Yum. Both the pomodoro and carbonara sauces are fabulous.
