| Is there any info on safe antacids or laxitives? Have always used Mylanta and they are not sure if it is Gluten free. |

Gosh, no one had an answer?
I can suggest some natural remedies. Plain old baking soda is gluten free and is the classic antacid. I think Arm & Hammer tells you how to use it as an antacid on their box.
For a laxative, try prunes or prune juice.
A less pleasant stool softener/laxative (I don't know that it's exactly a laxative, but it eases up stuck stools and it's an emetic as well) is apple cider vinegar. Use Bragg's if you can, from the health food store. You put a tablespoonful of it in enough water to make one cup, warm it up (40 seconds in the microwave or heat but don't boil some water. Drink it down and do this every hour when you're constipated. For routine use, drink once in the morning and once in the evening, more if you're overweight. I hate the taste of this stuff, but it works and it clears up skin and mouth infections while it's at it (if you drink it for 2-6 weeks).
Honestly, from reading the container it seems to me that Tums (antacid) ought to be okay. You can call (weekdays) to check at 1-800-897-7535. |
