Hi everyone. Very Happy Long time, no see.
After having a heap of problems with rashes, migraines, belly aches etc all my life, I finally got the referral lette to see an allergist today.

We've had a resent holiday (vacation) in the eastern Kimberley area of Western Australia. We have friends there, and were invited to go, see them. So we were there two weeks. In that time, I had at least nine days (and nights Surprised ) of intensely itchy rashes all over my arms and legs. I've worked out it's from the spinafex (wild, needle-sharp grass) that is everywhere there. I've realised over the years that I can't have any close contact with most grasses, so I was careful (so I thought, and wore jeans, sox and sneekers, when we walked anywhere. But, it didn't make any difference.

The climate there is either wet season, or dry season. At present it's the dry, and it is extremely dry. My skin just went haywire!!

I got really sick with terrible headaches, nausea, was a little confused, and had muscle weakness. Similar to a gluten attack I reckon.

SO!!! Evil or Very Mad I've made an appointment to see an allergist. It takes a while to get into these specialists here, when I don't have private health insurance (not compulsory here), but it's worth it to get an answer.

Good to touch base with you guys again anyway. Hope you're all doing ok.

Maggie: Good luck with the allergist. I got blood work for my allergist last week and they called me Tuesday and said my blood work for food allergies didn't come in just high but (as the nurse said) really, really high and need to have skin test done this week. Doing it Friday morning. My birthday. G R E A T! They seemed really concerned and wanted me in right away. The nurse said that I had many food allergies. I'll let you know. Keep us posted on you too.
