|
|
At our next support group meeting, we are having a cookie exchange. I thought it might be a nice holiday touch to have hot chocolate for people to share. Some of our members are intolerant to dairy. Does anyone have any recipes or tips for a dairy free hot chocolate recipe?
Thanks! _________________ -Colleen

| If they can have soy milk, you should be able to use that in most standard hot chocolate recipes. You also could search for vegan hot chocolate recipes. This one looks good, and it doesn't have any milk-like product in it. |

If you have access to Ah!laska Organic Hot Coco Mix it's GF/DF. I use Silk 'Very Vanilla' soy milk or the Silk Vanilla creamer in my hot coco. Also if you wanted to make some peppermint mochas have coffee there and the Torani Peppermint Syrup is also GF.
Dang. Now I want a peppermint mocha! _________________ Cheers!

Vances Dairi Free (potato based) in chocolate is, in Ina's opinion, the very best . Remember, that alot of people that don't do dairy also don't do soy. To make it we add hot water to the mix and stir like crazy...it is smoother if you use a blender but it will mix up with hot water and the mix...we add 1/3 cup to a small mug of hot water. If I were using those smallish styrofoam cups, I would use a 1/3 cup (or spoons and let people make it the strength that they like)....This is obviously most delicious with marshmallow cream.... _________________ Connie, mom to Ina, 14 y/o with CD |

I make it from scratch, but with almond or soy milk, like a regular hot chocolate would be made - cocoa powder, agave/honey/sucanat/maple syrup (Whatever I am in the mood for), milk, and sometimes a touch of extract (hazelnut, vanilla, mint...) _________________ Gluten-free, vegan blog: Whisking & Writing

| The Almond Breeze Chocolate flavor is wonderful as hot chocolate; even my hubby likes it since it doesn't have that dairy after-phlegm. |
