My dr. (who doesn't believe I have celiac, but also thinks that gluten intolerance and wheat allergy are the same thing) can't figure out why my sed rate is always significantly elevated.
Is this typical of someone who has CD or GI?
Still just trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Hi Andi

There's not alot of info on Celiac and elevated SED rate...but from what I can find...there are some connections.

"In my experience elevated SED rates are seen in a definite subgroup of individuals with continued sprue." - Dr. Rudert

Dr. Rudert is a gastro that is well versed in CD.

I hope you get to the bottom of what's going on! Have they checked for Lupus?

An increased SED rate is an indication of an autoimmune disorder, from what I have read in my research. You should proably ask for an ANA test and a celiac panel, and if your doctor won't, get a different doctor!
It took me 4 doctors before I found one even willing to test me! Be your own advocate.
