|
|
9 cups Rice Chex® cereal
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Substitution
Peanut butter and chocolate are a favorite flavor combo, but peanut butter lovers can substitute peanut butter chips for the chocolate chips to intensify that flavor.
1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): No change.
These taste like crispy peanut butter cups! They are great and quick and easy to make!

I don't see any mistakes in your post. Must have been my imagination! And, if you were to make an error, I would probably blame it on sleep deprivation rather than stupididity. _________________ Steph |

21 boxes?? That's a lot of cereal!
As a kid we would go skiing with several families for a week or so. Two families would pair up and prepare lunch, dinner and snacks for a day. One of the mom's (or families), always brought huge bags of what you are referring to as muddy buddies for a mid afternoon snack. She called it puppy chow though. |

I saw it today for $2.5 a box but didn't buy it. Is that a good price? |

If it's the larger box, that is definitely a good price. It's on sale here for 3 boxes for $8 which works out to over $2.66/box. I always get the 12.8 ounce box, so that's what you would want to compare it to. |

Our Walmart sells it for $1.66 a box. No one else around here even comes close to that price. That's why he bought 21 boxes. Plus, with 5 children that eat cereal, it goes fast. |
