|
|
I am newly dx Dec 3 2008.
I went to the dr to have blood work done for food alergies and he offered a CD test because my stomach was the primary problem. Bowel movements 5-6 times per day.
I'm glad I had it tested. My Igg came back positive but just 2 points above negative line and the Iga test came back negative. I hope I got those correct.
I want to know if possible...........
My blood work came as positive or reactive to yeast..brewers and bakers along with onions and about 15 other items.
I read somewhere that these food alergies could be prompted by my body out of wack due to me ingesting gluten and have CD.
It's very tough to adhere to both diets because some real GF treats that I would like have yeast which conflicts with my food alergies. Either way I am sticking to my guns on the GF diet, no turning back. I only had the blood work come back positive but thats all I need to make the change.
Any insight or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks. |

I know this an old post, but I must have missed it.
A year after going GF I had some bloodwork done for other foods (IgG testing, not York or another lab). I came back reactive to casein, yeast (brewer's and baker's), oats, wheat and rice (of all things!) With these results, I revisited my diet since I had gone GF. These foods, along with legumes, nightshade veggies and all grains were giving me problems to some degree. It's been hard - harder than going GF - to remove these foods from my diet, though it's been worth it to feel better.
I do think that some of these give me problems because of leaky gut related to the damage done by gluten (I do not have a CD diagnosis).
I hope someday to get a few back, and food trials thus far have ben unsuccessful.
I hope your GF life is going well, and I strongly advise cutting out those other foods and adding digestive enzymes and probiotics, if you haven't already. _________________ Nance

I missed this post also. Rue, could you please list your allergies (all 15) and maybe we can help you come up with an alternative to what it is you are wanting to have.
MrP is allergic to just about everything, so maybe I can help you figure something out. He doesn't have a problem with yeast, but if you are wanting some cinnamon rolls, you can make a really nice biscuit with cinnamon in it and a little extra sugar. I don't want to go into too many suggestions until I know what you can't have.
It is hard, but I have worked around it and MrP gets treats and doesn't get a lot of variety on the veggies and only 2 fruits that he can have. (if I can find currants and dates that have no sulfa added, he can have those as well in moderation.) _________________
