The Chex mix was a success! Everybody at the party chowed down without knowing it was GF. I modified the recipe slightly. I used Rice Chex, pretzels, popcorn, mixed nuts, and only half of the butter/seasoning mix.
Next stop: puppy chow!

Yeah, for us it's seasonal. This is not a summer type food. Definitely a fall/winter food. Hmmm, can't say that I really crave it in the summer. I'm sure if we made it during the summer, it'd disappear just as fast...

Isn't that funny! As a kid my mom always made it in the summer and we would eat at when at the beach, when having a picnic, etc. Don't ever remember having near the holidays.
A friend and I were having a similar chat about caramel. I make it in the fall--to go with apples; she makes it along with Christmas cookies. |

On the Chex site there is a recipe for Cheesy ranch chex mix. It calls for 1 package (1 oz) ranch dressing and seasoning mix Do you think that is a dry mix? I've never seen it before.

I'm sure it's the dry mix. In our grocery store it's in the condiment aisle. I usually use Uncle Dan's. Hidden Valley Ranch is another brand, although I don't know the GF status of that one.

We made Party Mix today, and it is soooo good! My tummy hurts from eating so much.

| I made some today as well. I don't add all of that other stuff though....just use cereal and nuts. It's so fast when made in the microwave! |
