Thanks for the pictures of the boxes Mike. I figured it would be great to know what the boxes looked like until....

a friend of mine e-mailed me asking me if he could have my address because he snagged a couple gf things from his friend who works at General Mills. I just got a second e-mail telling me the directions on the box were from pre-production, so he sent the pdf's of the correct directions.....

Apparently I will be getting the chocolate chip cookie and devils food cake mixes!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo excited!!!!!! I'll definitely let everyone know how they turn out, and I won't be afraid to buy them even if they're expensive if I've tried them already and they're good.

I can't stop smiling, I'm so happy!!!!!

He said they'll be in the mail tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have a nice package waiting for me when I get home from work Friday.

Sorry if I'm bragging, but I just had to share my news, and you guys are the only ones who will actually care.

They made it into the mail yesterday, and he said they should arrive Friday or Saturday. I'm still ridiculously excited.

I will definitely keep everyone updated and post pictures. I have a feeling they'll be made the second I get them in the mail. (and devoured shortly thereafter).

I got them Friday, and I made the cookies today. I think they taste like normal chocolate chip cookies. They're a little bit flatter than I prefer, but they're not crunchy. The instructions are really simple also. You just mix together a stick of butter, 1 egg, and a teaspoon of vanilla with the mix.

I took pictures, but I'm not sure where my camera cord is, so that may have to wait a few days.

The chocolate chip cookies definitely get 2 thumbs up.

it's exciting to see that a "mainstream" company like Betty Crocker is interested in producing GF products. You're one very lucky lady to get this early preview! I'm glad that you liked them and can't wait to see them on my grocery store's shelves.

The cookies were still great as "day old" cookies. I have to restrain myself from eating the whole batch. (I wound up with 22 total, and there are only 8 missing so far)

I'll be baking the devils food cake on Wednesday most likely, so I'll post more then.

That looks SO GOOD! I wish my problems with sugar would go away so I could have some. I am feeling seriously cookie deprived lately....

Wow, those look good. Smile It also looks like they "spread" more normally etc. like the cookies I used to make.

Will definitely have to try these once I find them. Smile

They are the most like a regular cookie than any GF cookie I've had. They definitely do spread more. I'm considering refrigerating the dough before I do the next ones to see if I can get them a little bit thicker (I don't like really thin cookies, and these aren't bad, but I'd like them a bit thicker). The main ingredient in them is the butter that you add, and I think maybe less butter and more egg would fix it, but they changed the instructions from 2 eggs and 1/2 a stick of butter to 1 egg and 1 stick of butter. I'm afraid to mess up an entire batch by experimenting, and there had to have been some reason they changed it. Anyone with more experience baking have any thoughts?
