My husband was at Trader Joe's over the weekend and spotted their new GF Brownie Mix. It was a bit over $3, so he brought it home. I made it for dessert for Fathers day. It makes an 8x8 pan (12 pieces). You are supposed to add 1 egg, oil, and water. I also added walnuts because we like them. They came out great! They were rich and fudgie and tasted wonderful. They are worth buying again since we have yet to spot the Betty Crocker mixes around here.

Ooooh!! Thanks for the info. We're huge brownie fans around here, so this will go a long way toward regaining some of our yummy goodies! _________________ Deb

Isn't it funny how different all of our tastes are? TJs came out with those brownies over a year ago...maybe even pushing two. They also have GF pancake mix, frozen pancakes, frozen PB cookies, etc.
I digress, anyway, I've made the brownies several times and I soooo want to like them, but they always taste wet and undercooked despite how long I baked them or if I reduced the liquid. I've subbed butter for the oil and they taste better. Often added a handful or choco chips and walnuts.
I've been on a brownie baking binge as of late and have made them homemade. I believe I posted the recipe here a while back. They're fudgy but not wet. |

I didn't like them either. I do like the pancakes (the frozen ones)...although the texture took some time to get used to. They are just so convenient. It's hard not to like them. _________________ Rachel |
