I seem to encounter different opinions on this. I was wondering, for those of you who had more of a problem with constipation rather than D, after going gluten-free was this able to be corrected by going gluten free? And how long did it take for you personally to see some improvement?
Initially when I first started having symptoms, I experienced D daily for months then it changed to mostly C.
Thank you very much. |

Many people do experience relief from their C symptoms after going GF. I can't tell you the duration, since I am in the "D" camp, but it will vary greatly from person to person. Some people experience relief really quickly, but for some it takes a while. _________________ -Colleen

Hi Lisa,
Welcome to the board.
One thing that can be an issue with the GF diet is that it can be lacking in fiber. Since some large sources of fiber have been removed, we have to be aware of our fiber intake. Of course water intake helps. Fiber + water + exercise = bullet train.
Check out GIG's PDF on Adding Fiber to your diet. _________________ Al

Thank you for replying.
I will be sure to look into a supplement if my c does not want to be corrected after going gluten free. For the most part, I consume quite a bit of fiber since I am a vegetarian and love fresh fruits and vegetables |
