Died within 48 hours of being posted on fatwallet. Doubt it's a coincidence. Sad

It was posted on slickdeals as well. I can only imagine how many of the coupons were wasted on people that won't even eat them since they'll taste different than what they are used to.

I posted a warning on slickdeals that they should not expect these to take just like their normal food, in hopes they'll give the mix to a celiac and then take a little to try instead of making it in their contaminated kitchen and then throwing the whole thing away after one bite.

a$$hole moderator removed my warning, but I reposted it. Very Happy

Hopefully these idiots in search of freebies will at least give the mix to a celiac they know instead of making it in their gluten contaminated kitchen and then throwing it away when it doesn't taste just like normal.

My co-worker had said she heard about the mixes on a site like this. Considering the hold time to get through to someone, I'm surprised people who don't even know what gluten is would wait for 15 or more minutes.

I didn't even know websites like this existed before.

I think the mixes taste normal enough that most wouldn't throw them away after making it. Hopefully this can at least help people see that gf food doesn't have to taste bad.

Honestly, my biggest fear is that someone will make this mix in their gluteny kitchen and make someone sick. Most people have no idea how sensitive people are to gluten when they can't have it. I don't trust my own mother to cook for me. If one of my friends showed up with gluten free cookies I'd have to pass on them because I don't want to get sick. It'd turn into a bad situation for both of us.

I agree. How do you explain cross contamination to someone who was trying to do something nice without them thinking you're saying their kitchen is dirty and/or you don't trust them.

I've always told people that want to make things for me that it'd be fun to make it together (at my house of course).

I'm hoping they give away more because I was going to tell my support group about them tomorrow. Apparently I should have just e-mailed the leader right away so she could let everyone know. There were a lot of people that wanted to try them, but weren't sure about the price. Maybe I'll get lucky and get my coupon in the mail tomorrow and I can give it away to someone who needs it more than me. (The pay cut at work hasn't totally taken away my giving nature.)
