I am craving my old-fashioned biscuits. Has anyone been successful in making some? If so, please share your recipe. Thanks! _________________ Fran |

Hi Fran,
Ask and you shall receive!!! LOL!! Actually the 1st one is a Bisquick replacement you could make them with. Peg (my wife) made the last one for me recently. We used our leftover T'giving turkey & gravy and put it over the top. YUMMMMMM.
Enjoy!!!!
GF BUTTERMILK BISQUICK MIX
2 1/2 c. rice flour (could be white, brown or half & half)
1 2/3 c. potato starch
3 tsp baking powder
2 1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs sugar
1/2 c. dry buttermilk powder (in supermarkets over dairy section or
baking section)
3 tbs egg replacer powder (supermarkets over eggs section)
1 c. less 1 Tbs shortening.
In a large bowl, wisk together all dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening
until no lumps appear. Store in the fridg. or freezer because of
shortening.
The Bisquick mix is from Betty Hagman.
----------------------------------------------
2/3 cup rice flour
1/4 cup potato starch
1/4 cup tapioca starch
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup buttermilk
1. Combine rice flour, potato starch, tapioca starch, sugar, baking powder, xanthan gum, salt, and cream of tartar.
2. In small mixing bowl slightly beat eggs; add oil, and buttermilk. Stir into dry ingredients and mix well.
3. Drop by large spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 F for 12-15 minutes.*
Makes 6-8 large biscuits.

I recently tried the new GF Pantry Quick Mix and made yummy biscuits. I divided the dough in half, and made nine plain and nine Parmesan herb biscuits.
The best GF biscuit I've tasted!

This makes an awesome recipe for biscuits! I actually found it by accident trying to make hamburger buns- (these are also great for biscuits & gravy!)
1 1/2 C Rice flour (brown or white)
1/2 C Potato starch
1 C Tapioca starch
4 teas. Baking powder
1 teas. Xanthum Gum
1 teas. Salt
2 TBSP. Sugar
Mix above ingredients. in separate bowl mix the following:
2/3 C oil
1 C milk (add 1 teas. lemon juice for buttermilk)
4 eggs-separate egg whites from yolks. beat whites until fluffy, beat yolks until creamy before adding.
Mix wet ingredients with dry ingredients. grease cookie sheet and drop by spoonfulls. bake at 400 for 13-15min.- should get nice and golden brown on top. (don't undercook, or they will fall when cooling)
variation: add 1 Cup grated chedder cheese or cheese and some minced fresh garlic- for a lovely garlic cheese biscuit! _________________ Danette Lykins
