Had my double procedures done yesterday. I'm kicking myself in the rear for not doing these in the very beginning. When I first suspected gluten intolerance I went on the diet first then did the bloodwork which was of course negative. I settled on a gluten intolerance diagnoses based on a positive dietary response instead of doing the endoscopy because to be frankly honest...I was scared. My new GI convinced me to do both. The prep was far worse than the procedure. In fact, I don't remember anything about the procedures at all. I don't even remember Dr. Lewey seeing me afterwards. I only have the info my hubby gave me. My colonoscopy was clean as a whistle. I've spent the last 6 months off and on worrying about colon cancer! My endoscopy showed patches of inflammation and redness in my small intestine. He told hubby that he did biopsy's but says they are celiac related no suspicions of cancer etc. So I am very relieved and as I said, wished I would have just done it all in the beginning so I didn't have these other fears of something worse going on! Just thought I would share in case others have fears of these procedures as well. _________________ Kathy |

This was my experience as well. Glad you came through your "double decker" OK. _________________ -Colleen
