I'm new to the fourms & of course the "What Frustrates You? topic just HAD to be opened & read! While I realize that most of the vents were back in April, I have some things I need to vent too.
1. People who get annoyed with me because they are on their cell phone in a public place & well, gee, I guess I"m just a little too close to them while I'm trying to get whatever it is I need off the shelf that they're inevitably blocking. I had one woman actually ask me, very rudely, "Do you mind? I'm on a private call?" So I said. "Oh no I don't mind at all, please continue with your private conversation in PUBLIC". Of course I followed that up with a very nasty word after that which really shut her the hell up.
2. Traffic regulators in the left lane. The left lane is for passing, people. Passing. If you are not passing anybody, get the hell out of my way because I don't really want to ride right up next to the semi truck for the next 5 miles it takes you to actually pass him. It's the vertical pedal on the right, use it.
3. "Family reunions" in the middle of the aisle at the grocery store. Please, take your love fest outside while you reminisce with the person you just saw last week.
4. Stupid people. There, I said it. Stupidity irks me to no end. I cannot understand how so many people got to adulthood with the amount of stupidity they have amassed.
Ok, I feel better now. Thank you! |

To add to this: "family reunions" while you're in your car. On the road. I'm not kidding. I've seen many people who stop in a semi-busy parking lot or side street to have a conversation. If it's that important use your phone or park your car elsewhere and talk. I'm going to run you over just to keep the gene pool clean. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Oh now see, that just made me think of another one! Ok, kinda two, really.
The people in the parking lots who walk DOWN THE MIDDLE completely oblivious to the fact there are cars behind them looking for a place to park. I now remedy this situation by just laying on the horn after I've given them sufficient time to move.
And the people who walk into any store & come to a complete STOP, again, right in the middle while they try & figure out which direction to go. I will end you. Move off to the side & then figure out where you want to go. |

This got going again just in time as I have a huge one right now, and I need to vent. My job recently announced that they've reworked our pay structure, and the only thing they know for sure is that at least 20 of us will be taking a pay cut (we already make more than the new top pay amount). They have no idea how this new pay structure will work for existing employees or if more people will get cuts (I'm one of the 20 that will for sure get cut--and it's not a small pay decrease either). They also have no idea when this will go into effect, or what our new pay will be. I'm lucky enough to be able to rework my budget and immediately start living off the worst-case scenario lower amount, but some of my co-workers are not so lucky.
The worst part is, is this has nothing to do with the economy or with job performance. (I don't want to go into specifics and give away where I work--otherwise I'd be more specific)
This makes me want to scream! |

This pretty much says it all!
How about the people who put their shopping cart in front of your car, so they don't bump it when they pull out? I watched a man do this as I was coming out of the store. By the time I got to my car, he had his running. If any of you know me, I have a stubborn streak. I pulled the cart around next to his car, leading him to believe I was waiting for him to back out. As he backed up, I moved closer he glared at me. When I finally let him back out, I looked him straight in the eye and said, "JACKA$$!" I wasn't thinking about the fact I wasn't in the best area, and he may just have a gun in the car...oh well, when you are pissed, sometimes the thinker doesn't work.
Another aggravation are those people with vision coverage, whom get free eyewear, then constantly complain about the selection...yet heaven forbid they use their allowance and pay a little more for a frame they like. Sorry, I work for an optometrist with an optical center.
Stupid people is right!!!! _________________ You can't discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore! |

Oh I'm sorry this is happening to you. I had to take a rather large pay cut at the beginning of the year as well, 5 figures, & it has really, hit me hard. Now the same company is trying to make me & several others take add'l pay cuts. And of course when it first happened, I was told how they really wanted to make sure that all of us were back up to our original salaray by August. Yeah, that worked out well. I know we're supposed to be happy that we have jobs & I am grateful for that, but when they do this stuff to you, what's the point? |

Dear secretaries of high-end office people,
I know you're very busy. It must be incredibly taxing to spend your entire day spamming the whole company with "URGENT: DONUTS DOWNSTAIRS!!!!" emails.
Grow. A f---ing. BRAIN.
I'm not a leper. I have a simple problem that prevents me from eating most normal food. Once again, I know this is a taxing concept. I can't even eat a donut! I must live on sunshine and unicorn farts.
When I ask a simple question, like "Who is catering the next event" or "Can I show up at the restaurant but not eat the food" put the f---ing PHONE DOWN for ONE MINUTE and give me a simple, concise f---king ANSWER. Answers like "I don't know what you're talking about" or "you must not eat hot dogs very often" DO NOT F---KING COUNT. You're obviously used to spamming the entire company. Answering me is like spamming the company. Except you don't fill the email with rainbows/exclamation points/graphics, and the reply just goes TO ME. TRY IT. I promise it's not difficult. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

| LMAO Ostrich. I'm not laughing at you, just the fact that I've never seen you this upset, and I'm sure we all agree with what you said. This is actually part of why I started this post. Great place to vent. I bet you feel better too. |

1. These people are a waste of oxygen. My tolerance for such is low.
2. You've never seen me play Warcraft.
This is strike #2. Strike #1 was the whole hot dog fiasco (that hot dog quote wasn't made up). Strike #3 means I go to the head of HR and demand some apologies. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

OK, I know this is an older thread, but hey...what's really frustrating me lately is having to log back into this site EACH AND EVERY time I come back after having navigated away from it...
Why is this happening now? I've never had this problem in the past...
Not for nothing, but it's kinda sorta really annoying... _________________ ~Torrey

Torrey - I've been having this issue for awhile now. The only fix that seems to help is checking the "keep me logged in" box. It seems like the site is dropping logins whenever you navigate to another page.
Dear football stars convicted of something illegal,
Your sorry butt belongs in jail. I don't care if you're the best football star the world has ever seen. Just because everybody worships you does not give you permission to beat your wife/girlfriend or drive drunk. I hope when your legs/arms/whatever finally give out and you're a has-been, beer-swilling nothing you have lots of time to reflect on your poor choices in life.
Dear people who worship said football stars,
1. It's. A. GAME. Grow up and get over it. If football didn't exist the world would keep on turning. Trust me.
2. You're part of the reason these guys keep getting slapped on the wrist. If you didn't put such pressure on them to play perhaps the judges wouldn't be so lenient. Would you still be a fanatic if these guys ran your loved one over? Or beat them senseless?
(This may just be a problem in NE, though Al says they have similar issues in WI.) _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

When I am in the bathroom at work, and all the other stalls in the room are open, and someone else comes in, they should not choose to use the stall right next to mine. They should leave at least a one stall buffer zone between us. It’s the potty stall DMZ. ESPECIALLY if said other person is planning to "drop some kids off at the pool." Sheesh. _________________ -Colleen
