Just wondering if there are support groups in the Bangor ME area....
Also, wondering if support groups accept those with Gluten sensitivity only or who have not been
formally diagnosed by the "Gold Standard" route.
Thanks |

A fellow Maine-iac! I know there is a group in the Portland area. I'll see if I can find their contact info. They might know if there is one in your area. You could also ask at your local health food store. They are often aware of local groups. _________________ Steph |

Thanks...that would be helpful....
I had negative bloodwork, but a positive response to gluten free diet.
My sister has Celiac dx by bloodwork and endoscopy....
I am just going through gluten withdrawal...not a fun thing, but I know in the end, it will benefit me, because my tummy is thanking me!
Needed to know as well if I would be welcomed without a gold standard diagnosis of Celiac....Thanks ever so much...
Fellow Maine-iac! LOL |

Here is a listing of Maine groups. It doesn't look like the list has been updated recently, so I hope you can get some useful info. There is contact info for a Bangor support group. Good luck! _________________ Steph |

This will depend on the group. Some groups are very open to those of us that are not "Goldies"...some are not .
Good luck!! _________________ Al

Any support group that would not accept people because they do not have the gold standard diagnosis is not very supportive, IMHO. _________________ -Colleen

I can't even fathom such a thing. That makes me sad. _________________ Cheers!
