Thank you for your reply smalltownslackermom, did you have the same kind of psych symptoms during the 6 weeks as well? and were they pretty intense?

The psych symptoms could be from a number of different things, depression because you have been given this diagnosis is common, brain fog is very common. Everyone is different so how long it takes for your symptoms to improve depends on you, and how well you are doing at adhering to the diet. I also used to feel like bugs where crawling on me and would glance out of the corner of my eye and actually think I saw them on me. Shocked Shocked

Welcome to the group, and I hope you are feeling lots better soon.

" I have been randomly depressed, anxiety, brain fog and general lack of interest in everything."
Crampy, yeah those sound about right. And Kathie is right, there is probably substantial variation in what and how long the worst of those symptoms take to clear up.
My son's meltdowns go away in about 4 to 5 days if he stays GF after getting glutened. But there are still episodes of him being "hard to reach" and crazy hyperactivity for a while. He had intense echolalia for a week or so after being GF for a month after his dx. It's a little harder for me to look at myself from the _outside_ in this regards but hang in there, maybe look on some of the neuro boards there are. I can't remember how to find those, sorry, but there are some interesting and difficult overlaps for some celiacs and Gluten intolerants.

I don't think it happens to everyone. I didn't experience any withdrawl. Don't worry about it, bbillcee. If it happens, it happens. You will get through it.

Interesting.......I don't think I had any withdrawals......I can tell I feel *clearer*.....for lack of a better word......my what I thought were hot flashes that were ungodly have stopped and I am sleeping better as I am not tossing and turning every half to an hour all night.....I just remember waking up about have as much now.....because for years I never slept, and the fatigue was just killing me......I have only been gluten free, it will be a month on the 29th......so I guess I can't say I went through any withdrawals, but I do feel better......for the most part,......now yesterday, I felt a tad queasy... no long.....and my gas is back, but just for a few hours a day instead of all day......

Thanks!!
