|
|
Well I have been gluten free for about a month and a half and starting after about the first 2 weeks of my GF diet I found myself with what seems like low blood sugars in the morning. It lasts till mid morning, and then I seem fine for the rest of the day...other than feeling very hungry.
I have tried to be careful not to eat too many high sugar carbs, and have frequent snacks. I have been tested for blood sugar problems and I check out fine...
Does anyone know a connection with a GF diet and low blood sugar? or is it a form of withdrawal? |

Your body is going to naturally have low blood sugar in the morning, unless you've been eating all night. Are you eating a balanced breakfast? _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Have you changed what you eat before bed? Ostrich is right on, your blood sugar will be low in the AM. Are you eating when you wake up, and what are you eating then? _________________ www.glutenfreefitness.com |

Also, make sure you are getting enough protein to keep your blood sugar from bottoming out after getting carbs... you should always eat protein and carbs together. _________________ Kim --

I have found that if I snack on nuts or almonds during the day and especially before bed, my sugar swings are more manageable. And also if I have eaten enough the day before the mornings seem better.
My breakfasts are healthy..with some nuts hot GF brown rice cereal GF yogurt milk..maybe a boiled egg...
I do hope this all levels off once my body gets used to all these "new" carbs.
I never had wide swings of Blood Sugars before I went GF...all my fasting blood sugars have been normal...
I do feel like my body is in de-tox however...still having quite the "withdrawal" journey |
