Hi, I am getting a biopsy on tuseday to see if I have celiac. I see that there are lots of others with the same questions as me so I am going to do a bit of research on here before I ask those same questions, but just wanted to introduce myself. Smile

Hi Naomi,

Welcome to the board! Please, make yourself at home here. There's lots of info to read thru. Don't be afraid to ask questions!

Good luck on Tuesday. Please, keep us updated.

Are you nervous about the procedure - do you have questions about the procedure?

Keep eating gluten! Lots of it!

Hope your procedure goes well and you get the answers you need.

Hi Naomi,

Good luck with the procedure. Yes - please ask questions if you have them. My only advice is to eat lightly these next couple of days, before you do the prep. it may make the whole process easier for you.

Smile

It was an upper endoscopy, down my throat. Yup nothing to eat or drink after 12pm night before.

Well weirdness keeps on coming. My biopsy came back normal.

Anywho, it helps some when I eat gluten free but I still feel sick.

I also had a gastric empty study, came back normal.

We are now doing some sort of scan this week, starts with an H, can't remember what it is called.

Hope we find the problem soon, if I loose anymore weight I am going to be a stick! Shocked

Do you have positive serology? It is not unheard of to have a positive blood panel and a negative biopsy.

Hmm..... we I guess I should post my symtoms might help you guys point me in the right direction.

Everytime I eat I get very nausous, I can keep the food down, but man some days I am over the toliet or with a garbage can cause it is that bad. Sometimes I wake up with extreem nausea and can barley get out of bed.
Also it varries day to day how bad it is, some days I can only eat 2-3 bites before I have to stop eating, some days I can eat about 20 bites.......

Obviously due to me not eating very much I have lost a lot of weight. About 35lbs..... I am skinnny for how tall I am. Considering I was overwieght before this started it is kinda a good thing, but now it needs to stop, or I will start looking like I am anorexic. Which my parents and doctors are starting to push me that if that is what it is I need to say so they can help. But I am not faking it to eat less, this is very real nausea.

Also my other symptom is, I feel full very very easily. Meaning if I don't feel nausous, and I try to eat like a normal person would, I can only eat about 1/3 of that normal person before I feel full, and if I try to eat anymore I feel very sick. And I NEVER feel hungry.

I have been diagnosised with other things that tie into CD, so we were really surprised that my biopsy came back normal. And I don't know what exact tests they did. I was not happy with the NP that I saw instead of my GD, she was not clear at all what they tested for and what came back normal or what, I don't know.

Thanks to you all for helping me.

I assume they have ruled out the neurological causes of nausea (such as brain cancer?) ( Wink she says cheerfully)...There are always more tests, and there is always a cause, they just need to find it!
Hang in there!

Ask about having one of those pill-cam tests. You basically swallow a pill sized camera and it transmits a bunch of photos of your digestive tract as it works its way through.

Those are so cool! I'm so old I remember when the sigmoidscope was the "silver stallion" and now they have all this neat stuff. Cool
