...symptom wise ?!??!?
The post about reacting to white bread worse and my own experience with a greatly increased sensitivity to being glutened (I do avoid it but accidents happen) makes me wonder if the symptoms of celiac evolve. When I first went GF I felt miserable and crampy and had the D as well as systematic symptoms like joint pain & fatigue. Now, a glutening will knock me out, cause me a lot of nausea and take a few days for my stomach to get back to normal. Even a small amount of gluten will make my stomach hurt just eating my regular ol' GF food for the first little bit.
So....did you find that once you became GF, or just over time, that your symptoms evolved &/or got worse (you became more sensitive) ?!?!? |

Many people report they become more sensitive to gluten after it's been removed. Small infractions can cause large reactions. _________________ Al

I've become more sensitive to not only gluten, but all the foods I avoid. There are some that I don't cut out completely (beans, potatoes and other nightshades), and I have to be very careful about the amount I have and the frequency. _________________ Nance

My symptoms have become more severe the longer I am GF. It really gives me incentive to avoid gluten at all costs! _________________ -Colleen

I was able to quit nexium almost as soon as I went gluten free. When the Carolina Ale House glutened me I had to take zantac for almost a month after the fact. I would have gotten nexium since the zantac wasn't enough, but I can't see my doc at student health and can't afford a new patient appointment with a different doc. I might order some nexium from overseas for next time. _________________ Lauren
