If you had one day without CD, what would you eat?

I know -- why dream? I'm not even sure what mine would be. Okay, I do know . . . I'd start with some croissants, toasted lightly, drizzled with honey . . . later, fried clams at the beach . . . maybe some lasagna for supper . . . oooh, maybe those molten cakes for dessert? The real thing -- not those mixes they show on the TV ads. Have to fit in a really good pizza too . . . I know that before the day ended, I'd feel pretty full from all the food I'd eaten.

How about the rest of you? What would be on your list, if you had one day of gluten (and dairy, for many of us -- remember that no CD for a day means we'd be able to eat dairy again)?

Off the top of my head:

1. My grandmother's chocolate chip cookies
2. A dipped Italian Beef sandwich from Mr. Beef in Chicago
3. A Chicago style hot dog
4. Stouffer's meat lasagna-food memories!
5. Italian bread dipped in extra virgin olive oil and parmesan cheese

if i didnt have a gluten and lactose intolerance for a day what would i eat?
i actually can't really think of a food i would *want* to induldge in. i love what i am able to cook and eat right now. in fact i appreciate my food more now that it is restricted (in a way). i am also lucky that my favourite food (BROCCOLI!) is not something that i cannot have.

BUT what i would enjoy about a day like that is not having to worry and think about what was in my food, that is whether or not it was gluten-free or not. as much as i don't mind my gluten-free diet and existance, every now and then it feels slightly overwhelming and exhausting...sometimes i just don't want to have to think before i eat something! SO....i would see that one day as a day free of worry about gluten!

What would I eat?
I can only think of two things
Chocolate Cake, and Pizza, a really good pizza oh yea and garlic bread.
Tho I have found once a real good choc cake gluten free of course (cant seem to find it again, I did keep the box). Even my husband thought it was better than any others he has tried and chocolate cake is his favorite.

Laurie,
check out my chocolate cupcakes in the recipe section - they turn out wonderful & I could not tell the difference (that they were GF)

I have not converted a favorite chocolate cake yet but when i do I will post it to the recipe section. It is a common one here in the South where you boil the wet ingredients & then pour it over the flour & then you boil the wet icing ingredients & pour that over the powered sugar & then pour the icing over the warm cake. I think it would be easy to convert. but just have not had the time & energy to do it.

although i'm not a celiac sufferer myself [i look on here to help my brother] i understand a little where you are coming from. ive suffered with digestive problems myself for 3 yearsi.e pain and indegestion after eating almost anything. Ive now been diagnosed with gallstones[painful] and will have my gallbladder removed on the 5th December. I hope i will again be able to enjoy some foods[at the moment even the fat in milk in my tea/coffee causes pain]. I look at good old English fish and chips with envy and would love to eat a chinese or Indian curry again although my Dr thinks my indegestion problems may get worse after the op. i think no matter what our intolerences are we will always crave for the things we cannot have Evil or Very Mad
