While on vacation during Thanksgiving, we stopped at a Cracker Barrel somewhere in PA. I told the waitress some of us in the family had special dietary needs and explained about no gluten. SHE TOOK NOTES!!! Then she wrote down CELIAC DISEASE and said she wasn't familiar, but would go to the chefs and see what they said. One of them was educated about CD and had several recommendations for us. We all had the grilled catfish with no spices, red-skin potatoes and fried apples. It was wonderful and we did not get sick! It is so rare that we can eat anywhere and not be REALLY sick afterwards!
