Hi -
This is funny.
I posted yesterday about my agnst at trying to navigate Olive Garden tonight with my small group from church. This was supposed to be a big celebration dinner, as we just wrapped up a wonderful study.
After talking to you guys and fishing around elsewhere I really wanted to get out of it...but didn't know how.
First of all, my friend Jan, called to tell me they moved it to another Italian place
But the clincher came this morning when my husband and I woke up...He mumbled - "You know what? I can't go tonight. I have to do a 24 hour urine test today, as I'm seeing the doctor in the morning!!" I said, "TOM! Thank you...thank you...I just didn't know HOW I was going to navigate this one." I went on to tell him what you guys had shared (he knows you're special, now, too!)
So, I called Jan...told her about the pee test and how Tommy Boy will be "chained to the toilet"...and then I honestly told her how Italian food (at this time...to soften the blow) would be extremely difficult for me to weed my way through as I am both gluten and dairy intolerant...so I would be opting out to stay home with hubby."
Seriously...I said more than one prayer on this one! Now I know it was answered!
Thanks, guys!

| You should check with some of the restuarants in your area. I have three around my city, Maple Grove, Minnesota (a suburb of Minneapolis) that have Gluten Free Menus. You need to get the info right from the Chef because not all the waiters know the info. One of them, Biaggi's, is an Italian restuarant that carries rice pasta and has a list of their menu items that are gluten free if made with the rice pasta. Another, PF Chang's is oriental and they have a set menu with about 12 or 15 items. I hear that Outback Steak house also has a menu. If you know of an Au Bon Pain store, you can look up their ingredients on line so that you know what soups you can have and also Taco Bell & Taco John's has a list of their gluten free items. |

Maple Grove??? Really???
Do you know the Van Dorp family? Roger grew up on a farm in Maple Grove.
Roger and his wife Shari (she's a Minnesotan also) live near us here in Michigan and are our best friends.
Small world. |
