This is great for a pastry filling, to put between cake layers, add any flavoring other than vanilla. Try banana flavoring with sliced bananas, drop in some gluten free vanilla cookies and top with whip cream.
Vanilla cream
1/3 cup sugar
3Tbls cornstarch
1/8 tsp salt
2 cups milk
2egg yolks
whisk while in sauce pan--before turning on heat. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture boils for one minute. Remove from heat, add:
2tsp butter
2tsp vanilla (or other flavoring)
let cool. Cover with plastic wrap to prevent the thick top cover of cooked puddings.
