Hi, I'm new to the forums and I could use some advice. I will be traveling to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic in March. This is work related so I do need to go. Has anyone had experience with packing non-perishable GF into another country? I'm a little concerned about going to the Dominican Republic since I have to pass through Customs with a group of ten people and I don't want to cause any problems (or loose my food!) if that's not appropriate. I'm also concerned about the place we stay at because it's all buffet food and I'm not sure what is "safe".
Any comments would be welcomed - thanks! |

Hi Marie,
Boy, I don't know the laws on that. Did you book this thru a travel agent? They might know who to ask.
Are you staying at an All Inclusive? I would call ahead, most of those places are accomodating to dietary requirements. We are heading to Cancun in Feb to stay at Club Maeva. I have never been there - but it's reported that they are VERY willing to do what ever I need. We're going with 2 other couples. One other guy has CD...it'll be interesting.
If you find out, please post back. I'll do the same.
Good luck on your trip! _________________ Al
