It is really a struggle to find places that will accomodate a gluten free diet...so I thought I would share some of the places I have found so that maybe it could help you! I'm not sure if some of these places are just in Pennsylvania or if they are around other places...

Burger King - If you are in a tight bind and need something fast, I found that ordering any burger as "low-carb" works great (they give you everything but the bun in a dish). I found that I can also eat the french fries because they use potato starch and rice flour on them and cook them in seperate friers than the breaded chicken.

Wendy's
- baked potatoe, hamuber w/ no bun (comes in a dish), frosty's

Hoss's Steak House - They have grilled chicken fingers (order w/ no seasonings) and a great salad bar. I also have eaten the steaks here which are yummy too...they don't pre-marrinade them so they are ok to get if you order them w/ no seasonings. You can also get a baked potatoe to go along with either the chicken or steak.

Texas Roadhouse - I usually get a steak or a pork chop here with a baked potato. You can get a salad just ask for no crutons and itallian dressing on the side. Also, you can get the steamed veggies, just ask for no seasoning on them.

Hope those help someone...and I will try to think of any others that I left out! Wink

I have a list of many places to eat in the Los Angeles area. If anyone is visiting here, please let this site know, and I'll steer you to the type of place you'd like to go. I eat out a lot all over the LA area, so you might as well pick my brain. It would be best if you tell me where in the LA area you are going to be. Many of the restaurants are chains, but there are also a lot of family places, one-of-a-kind.

I'm looking forward to helping you out.

By far the BEST meals I've had are at Hardee's. They have a wonderful breakfast bowl which is gluten free/low carb as well as they serve a low carb /gluten-free hamburger which is wrapped in a pocket of lettuce. Nice looking and just like eating a normal hamburger.

arrannen, thanks for posting that Hardee's low-carb burger suggestion! I tried it yesterday for lunch and it was delicious. Ok, I confess I was a big chicken the first time only eating a few bites and tossing the rest. That was hard to do, but I knew if I was going to be glutened I didn't want an entire burger's worth. Yes, I admit I'm SO gluten-shy. Needless worry! I'll definitely have another one very soon. Never felt the slightest twinge, and I'm super sensitive Smile

Do you "guys" have the fries? Do they have dedicated fryers? Hardees are rather non-existant up here in WI. We had one in my town, but it closed. I won't go into the details...but it was gross. Sad

Ok, I was the "Guest" just above. Obviously I forgot to use Username. No, I did not have their fries. I think I read that they are not safe, but not sure. I could have driven across to McD's for fries, but I really just wanted that fast-food burger. Sorry you don't have Hardee's in WI. Golly, it was good. Will go back for a whole one tomorrow Smile

We have them...we just don't see too many. At least I don't.

Thanks for the Fry Update Smile
