"Friends" at work are great at that! They are always bring by cookies, etc, saying, "You probably can't have this but I made cookies!" and then I always have to tell them no but thanks. "Can you have this?" is one of the most common questions I hear at work. Lol!

Yup! Right now I'm trying to decide whether or not I really want to go with a group from work to a 5 day meeting in June away from home. I really don't want to go because of the food thing (and also, I feel bad leaving my hubby alone for that long with our 2 young kids). One of my good friends whose father supposedly has CD and who thought for a while that he also had CD was telling me that I was being ridiculous worrying about what I'll eat at the meeting; it can't be that hard, his father has no problem eating out. But from what I can tell, his father isn't being strict and my friend himself seems to have given up on the GF thing. So he was trying to convince me that maybe I'm not too sensitive and that a little gluten couldn't hurt if I ate some "by mistake"...not that he was suggesting that I cheat or anything! Huh, he made me really mad! Evil or Very Mad People just seem to think that the whole thing is just silly and that I'm being overly cautious and don't know what I'm talking about. That, and my dr blowing me off, are really making me angry today!!! Mad Mad Mad Evil or Very Mad

Sorry,

Becky

And the list goes on, and on, and on..... Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil

Maggie: I am right there with you with the coffee and ice cream. I have to be having a good belly day to eat apples and not have it make my belly hurt. I aslo can't have corn.

My NP said that I'm doing well, but I need to eat less fruits and carbs and more veggies. So, in a sense, my food is even more limited now. Confused Thankfully, I really like veggies, but really, how many salads can one person eat!?!?!

Heeheehee!! Laughing Thanks for that Manda & Becky. I needed a laugh.
Apples are best peeled, I find. And you're right about the "good belly day" for apples Becky. That's how I am too. They are too acidy or something on other days. Mad

Yep! GF catfood sounds like the go...but don't forget the head cold, and closed eyes!! Wink

Cause from what I've seen, there is a slight chance that you are wrong.

[quote="luvscowznh"]Thankfully I have gotten over that now and am happy with my frozen fruit pops. No corn, no (refined) sugar, no wheat. Laughing

Gosh, I didn't even think of these for Matthew. Does anyone know which brand is safe? Or where to get them? This would be a PERFECT treat for him, because we are also avoiding the refined sugar as well as the corn, dairy, and gluten.

Kristie, I think the Dole (brand) ones do not have added sugar - read the labels - they are available most everywhere. I like the strawberry ones - they are a nice treat, but double check the label - I have not had them since GF.

you can also make your own - by blending up frozen fruit & freezing it in those tupperware like ice pop forms - I think they even carry those at WalMart.

Also, you can get electric ice cream sorbet freezers for about $60.00 & make frozen things out of fresh fruits etc. I got one for my grandkids, they loved it.

Summer is almost here!!!!! (well we are not having winter at all here in the deep south !!!)
