Does anybody get hypoglycemia that might be a result of a GF diet? I seem to be having bouts of it. So I make sure I carry necessary glucose tabs with me or food. It can be in the range of 57- 65 or so with blood sugar. I swear sometimes I feel like I could be a type 2 diabetic...I have alot of the symptoms. But blood sugar loves seem to be in the normal range. Did you know some of the complications related to diabetes can result in celiac disease. Interesting Hmmm. I do have a family history of it. My dad had type 2 and my sister developed type 2 about 2 years ago. I'm not over weight..in fact lost about 20 pounds since going GF...went from 156 to 136 lbs. I have been trying to eat small meals through out the day. This is better for you anyway as far as for keeping blood sugar levels within normal range. I don't eat alot of sugar...but use stevia for a sweetner. Anybody tried stevia (The powder...not the extract) it's great.
But I would be interested in any hypoglcemia info you all might have or personally experiencing. Thanks TJ |

Interesting that you note that. I was actually just going to post today that my hypoglycemia is in check now that I don't eat gluten. When you have sugar, do you couple it with protein? That is imperative for a hypoglycemic. Hypoglycemia can be one of the first stages of diabetes! Keep it in check better and it will halt diabetes!
