I was dx with this in 1995 but now the dr says I don't have it even though every time I get tested my sugar level go down to 50 after the first hour. but I feel drunk and pains in my stomach everytime I eat sugar. But I feel so addicted to the stuff, if they took it off the market I would probably be in some back alley buying it. hahaha. But yes I do use stevia powder, but I dont know what sub you would use in cooking. bread I use honey, but sometimes honey bothers me. Sometimes I think I would be better of if I just didnt eat at all .... oh but then how would I keep up this shape I have been building up four 40 + years? carey

Carey, I use the stevia powder in cooking also, it doesn't take much. I increase the GF flour a bit to compensate for volume loss of the sugar and it seems to work. Or like you I will use a bit of honey & stevia together for a sweeter taste. Sometimes you just want that super sweet tooth going on thing. right! Yeah! Also my Blood sugar gets down in the 50 range too...Why did the Doc say you have it, is it pituitary related? thyroid? Hypothalamus? Or is it just our diet now that were GF? I am trying to figure out why it is occuring a little more. But you know it is not severe, or life threatening to me it just gets irritating if your out & about & you have to pop the glucose tabs or eat raisens etc. But you do have to take care of it immediately or it can be life threatening. Where are you in idaho? I'm in spokane, wash. Thanks TJ

tj, I am in Pocatello, my husband had an uncle in spokan and one in seattle, but one passed away and the other is in a rest home.how do you know how much stevia to use to how much sugar? I was dx for c.d last year dx with hypoglycimia in 1995, was having stomach pains(like the cd kind) shaking when Id get hungry, when Id eat sugar I was disorriented confused. This year when they tested me they werent too concerned that I almost passed out during the 3 hr test or that my levels dropped to 50. they said hypoglcymia is an off and on thing, depends on how you eat, noooooooo, you think????????? talk later carey
