Does anyone have a good substitute for Ranch Dip. I wanted to make my Taco soup and it just isn't the same without it.

I should have clarified my self. I need the seasoning that you would find if you bought a package of Ranch dressing mix. I add the package to my soup.

Donna,
I found this recipe on the internet. Of course the Saltines are not gluten free, but perhaps they could simply be eliminated. I think the powdered ranch dressing also has dried buttermilk in it and you could sub dried buttermilk for the wet buttermilk. If nothing else, you'll have a better idea as to what seasonings go in it.
It may be worth a phone call to Good Seasonings to see if the powdered ranch dressing is GF. I know their Garlic and Herb dressing used to be.
Perhaps this will help.

Taken from the internet...
Easy to make and wonderful to have on hand. A real money saver. Great to give bottles of these great dry mixes as shower gifts.
Dry Ranch Dressing Mix Recipe
15 saltines, finely crushed
2 cups minced parsley flakes, crushed
1/2 cup instant minced onion
2 tablespoons dry dill weed
1/4 cup onion salt
1/4 cup garlic salt
1/4 cup onion powder
1/4 cup garlic powder
Put crackers through blender on high speed until powdered.
Add parsley, minced onions, and dill weed.
Blend again until powdered.
Dump into bowl.
Stir in onion salt, garlic salt, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Put into container with tight-fitting lid.
To make salad dressing:
1 tablespoon ranch dressing mix
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup buttermilk |

Ranch Dressing and Dip Mix
This versatile mix can be used to make a dressing for salads, a dip for fresh veggies, or topping for baked potatoes.

1/2 Tbsp. dried chives
1/4 Tbsp. dried tarragon
1/2 Tbsp. lemon pepper
1 Tbsp. Salt
1/4 Tbsp. oregano
1/2 Tbsp. garlic powder
In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients. Store in an airtight container.
Attach this to the Jar: Ranch Dressing Makes 1 cup
1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/2 cup buttermilk
1 Tbsp. Ranch Pressing & Dip Mix
In a large bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk and dressing & dip mix. Refrigerate for one hour before serving _________________

Thanks a bunch. I have copied both recipes and will make 1/2 of each to see if I have a preference.
