GF (whey) protein powder?

Hey all,

Does anyone know of any protein powders that are GF?
I know I found a few not too long ago, but I can't (for the life of me) remember the brands... Embarassed

Bob's Red Mill whey powder does not have the gluten free label on it and when I called them regarding it they could not guarantee it was safe.

I have had excellent results substituting equal amounts of ground almond or almond meal for whey powder in several different recipes.

Yes, I have heard that about Bob's Red Mill and the company not being able to guarantee that their products are in fact GF and contamination-free...makes you wonder about all of their products, doesn't it?? Rolling Eyes

Don't they have some stuff that is produced in seperate GF facilities? I thought that's what their website said. It's been awhile since I've been there.

Cool beans--I will hit GNC today to pick up some powder...

By the way (yes, this is kinda off-topic), the Billy Joel concert last night was AWESOME!!! Did you hear us singing *all the way* from NYC? He really put on a great concert and he has a terrific sense of humor!
And yes, to everyone's complete delight, he ended the evening with "Piano Man"--the ENTIRE crowd was singing; I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to hear us in Wisconsin, Al! Laughing

Oh, and yes, got home late and *still* made my regular train and into the office on time! Razz

Thanks for the concert review! YES, I COULD hear you all the way from NYC. Sounds like it was a great show.

I love Piano Man. Strangely enough that was the 1st song I learned to fingerpick on the guitar 20 odd years ago. Dust in the Wind was the 2nd Very Happy

I just started taking soy protein powder made by a Californian company called Nutrilite (http://www.nutrilite.com), but I'm not sure if it is GF. I don't have any reaction to it so far.

Speaking of Billy Joel and his concert. I wonder if there is a 'celebrity' with Celiac.

There is also a rice protein powder (NutriBiotic, I believe it's called) that I found at Miss Roben's. (www.missroben.com)

As for celebrities with CD, the only one that comes to mind is the football player Rich Gannon's daughter. And rumor has it that JFK suffered from it, as well...

I don't worry about any of Bob's Red Mill products with the gluten free logo on them. In fact, I'm quite relieved that they will go as far and tell us what is safe, completely safe and what is not. I wish more companies were this forthcoming.

I think you are right that Bob's Red Mill has a dedicated gluten free facility. I've heard that several time, but I have not verified it.

Yes, I have never had any problems with Bob's Red Mill products...I absolutely love the Mighty Tasty GF Hot Cereal!

I did have a reaction to that Nature's Path cereal (Gorilla Munch or Panda Puffs--one of the two), though. I'm not sure exactly what caused it, but it was the only thing I had eaten for breakfast one day, and immediately afterward, I was in a world of hurt for two days. Oh, and I know it wasn't the milk because I eat my cereal sans milk...don't like milk--was lactose intolerant as a kid, so I kind of developed an aversion to it.
