He should definitely stay away from barley. I like to eat Nature's Path Mesa Sunrise and Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice Cereal.

Here's a link to all the GF cereals found at Whole Foods. http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/healthinfo/gluten.pdf (See pages 2 and 3) Most of these brands can be found at any natural/health food store.

Hi Telfy,

Welcome to the board! How nice of you to be doing research on your brothers behalf!

Yup - Mangomko is right...he has to stay away from barley! There is very little mainstream cereal that is GF. Fruity Pebbles & Coco Pebbles are the only ones that come to mind. Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, Corn Flakes...all have malt added.

Take a look thru these threads in which we discussed cereal (these links also list GF cereals):

For GF Cereal options:

As with any list...double check the product status yourself by calling the maker. These lists are not perfect, ingredient lists change quickly

Delphi Food Lists
Chicago Mainstream GF Food List

Whole Foods is a good place if you have one. Trader Joes might have some too - I am less familiar with them.
