Gave Dr. Enterolab Results

Hi Everybody -

Saw my doctor yesterday and gave her my Enterolab results. She was blown away by the very detailed report and was quite excited about it. She said she "had no reason not to agree with the diagnosis", especially since she is very aware of my symptoms.

She shook her head, a little taken aback, and admitted that the medical establishment can really get stuck in a rut..."we have always done it this way (i.e., small intestine biopsy), so that is the only way we will get a diagnois." She said they are "notoriously stubborn to accept something new".

I thought that was quite interesting coming from a doctor, herself. And let me tell you...this gal is very much respected in my community and surrounding area. She is no slouch. She is planning on recommending people use Enterolab as an option for diagnosis for gluten sensitivity or if you are a carrier of the gene (found through DNA testing).

exciting news for all of us. If this test becomes widely recognized it will mean a huge change in the diagnostic process and time of suffering for hundreds, no thousands of people.

I AGREE!! Read on - you might find this interesting.

I went to my first support group meeting the other night and of course the first question is, "Who's your doctor (gastro)??" or "Who did your biopsy??"

(Me) "Well, I went an unconventional route. I had both DNA and stool testing done which both came back positive. The DNA showed I carried one of the two main Celiac genes and the other showed one of the gluten sensitivity genes. From what I have learned, it only takes one of the genes and a trigger to develop full blown symptoms."

(Them) "Well there are people who can have those genes and remain symptom free their entire lives."

(Me) "True...but there are Celiac's that are also 'symptom free', right? As for me and the "triggers"? How's this list? My entire digestive systems shut down...could no longer digest my food, leaky gut syndrome, joint pain, severe muscle cramping, eczema, weight gain, depression, belly distended 6 inches beyond what's normal for me, constipation/diarrhea, lactose/casein intolerant. Oh...and my test showed that I have the antibodies and some malabsorption issues! Also, since I have been gluten/casein free, all of my nasty symptoms are gone."

(Them) "GOOD NIGHT, GIRL!" (laughing) Honey, you don't need any biopsy to confirm that you got nailed. Now, tell me about this Enterolab again...you've convinced me.

I am telling you (anybody out there hearing this old girl??) There ARE answers outside of conventional medicine.

Keep an open mind, don't close it off to new ideas.
