1.) I came from a high fiber low sugar breakfast. I was only eating Cheerios, Bran Flakes, and Fiber One when I was diagnosed. I am now looking for a healthy breakfast cereal (hot or clod is fine) that is high in fiber & low in sugar. I have tried the Nature’s Path Corn flakes. They are good, but don’t contain quite fiber for my liking. Any suggestions?

2.) Has anyone ever eaten at the Japanese Steak House where they cook in front of you (something like Hibachi or Kabuki)? I keep craving it, but am pretty sure it is not safe??? Any thoughts?

3.) Does anyone ever splurge? Do you just forget about your gluten free diet? Like, if you are totally craving something, do you ever just go for it? Will your symptoms all come back? I don’t know what to think about this situation.

4.) I am still looking for this “list of mainstream ingredients” that are gluten-free. I can’t find it.

Ok, that is all I can think of right now. Thanks for the help. This is great.

Hi New,

It's in this forum (Proper Foods), it's a post called "Chicago Mainstream Food List". It's the 3rd post down from this one.

To make things easier for you - I copied the post - just click the link below:

The food on this list is probably available just about anywhere - not just Chicago. Hey, if it's available in my small hometown...it's probably in yours too Smile

http://homepage.mac.com/sholland/celiac/GFfoodlist.pdf

Note: Even though these products are supposed to GF - please - always check the labels. If something looks suspiscious, don't eat it until you can verify it with the manufacturer. "When in doubt - leave it out"

I'm running short on time, but I come back to answer some of your questions. To answer one of them: NEVER,EVER CHEAT! You will be sorry you did - trust me!! I had a few accidental ingestions (maybe 1 or 2 intentional ones) along the way. It's not worth it. Yes your symptoms will come back.
