You can either serve as is . . .
or add a dusting of confectioner's sugar . . .
or ice it . . .
or (my daughter's choice for her birthday each year): when it cools, slice it crosswise into three layers and fill with apricot and raspberry all-fruit between the layers, and ice with bittersweet chocolate melted with some heavy cream.
The recipe:
14 oz bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
12 eggs
2 cps cugar
3.5 (yes, three and a half) sticks of butter (never margarine)
1 cp GF baking flour
Beat all ingredients on high for 2-3 minutes, then bake at 325 in a springform pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes. |

I have tried a few recipes from this cookbook and they were very good. Not for anyone who can't eat eggs or nuts! But those who can may find heaven after all. The name of the book is Fabulous & Flourless. I got a copy from my local library.
I've tried baking with rice and other flours to which some recipes come out ok. But cooking without flour is so much more and in most recipes sugar used is very little. Flourless chocolate brownies(torte) is great!
Just an idea, good luck. One more thing the only thing I have notice that with different recipes you may need to cook a little longer than what they say. I think it depends on your oven temperture. |
