About a two years ago i started to noticed a rash on my hands over a year it kept getting worst so I went to the doctor the frist one said that it was a fungus. Gave me anti fungal cream and sent me off. Two weeks later went back saw diffrent doctor (the joys of HMO's) She stated that it was deffinally not fungal and gave me a script for a steroid cream. Two weeks later back to the same doctor changed it to steroid ointment. That all it did was ruined clothes and sheets. So I gave up and went to a health food store started with vitamis and helped with the itching but did not go away. In November I got a book Healthy Healing saw a photo that looked like my hands D/H looked at caused by Celiac sat and Cry becuase I had watched my Mom struggled and lost her battel with Celiac eight years ago.
So I knew the diet and started immediately and found this and many other sites. Two weeks pasted hands looked great and I felt great. Family encouraged me to go get a formal diagnosed. So back on gluten I went ended up with the rash all over my arms and legs befor I convinced the Doctors to test me for Celiac. Took blood test Jan 3, and stop eatting gluten agian. hands are better already. Test results. Lab stated that it needed to be a 20 and my resaults were 8.9. Help I don't want to go back to eating gluten for another test. Any one else experiencing this? Help!!!

Rae,

Maria is right...you don't need to go back to gluten. You can decide here and now to stay GF - despite what all the doctors & lab reports say.

You know how you feel when you consume gluten. You konw how you feel when you don't consume gluten. Which way to do you feel better? I thought so. There - you have your diagnosis.

Sorry about your Mother. Was she diagnosed with CD? If she was and you have symptoms...you have one more mark for going & staying GF.

Do you know what blood tests were run? It's always a good idea to get & keep copies of your lab results & medical records.

Good luck. I wish you health. Keep us informed on how you're doing.
