Lynda:

There's one here in Tyngsboro MA. My boyfriend loves it, but I also have sugar issues, so it really isn't good for me. (BBQ has a lot of sugar and/or corn syrup...)

I came across this web site called Celiac Chicks. http://www.celiacchicks.com/ This website lists all kinds of restaurats that you can go to that are Gluten Free. They are mostly in the New York City area, but they also have other interesting info too. I was amazed when looking at this site! Please check it out! Very Happy

Hey aklap! I looked at the Indy resturaunts you posted the link to and I have been to some of them. I didn't know there were so many though! I have been to Don Pablo's and the service was great! No problems. I have been to Outback and had no problems. PF Changs I have been there and it has been simply amazing! I love it there. When they bring out the food they specificly say for example GF lettuce wraps. So then you know that it is truely what you ordered. I wasn't sure if I could have the rice there and its not stated on the GF menu if you can, so I asked and they ended up calling their corprate office to find out for me! You can have both the brown and white rice! I was so excited cause I love white sticky rice. Smile I will definetly check out more of them on the list and get back to you!

Hi Chrisi,

Cocoa it self does not contain gluten (a protein found in wheat, barely, rye).

http://www.glutenfreeda.com/glossary.asp
Cocoa: The pods of the cacao tree, processed to remove the cocoa butter and ground into powder.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocoa

Gluten can be added to it when a food item is processed.

A Snickers candy bar is GF. A Milkyway bar is NOT GF. They both have milk chocolate - but a Milkyway uses some type of gluten in it's recipe. (FYI: a Milkyway Midnight Bar is GF. Go figure Smile)

I hope this helps Smile

Well, I'm nowhere near any of you, but I thought I'd add a comment anyway...cus I can! Wink
We are going to my niece's (brother's only child) wedding on Saturday. We fly out tomorrow lunchtime to go interstate for the three days till Sunday.

I'm taking some health bars to eat for brekky and snacks, plus I'll get some supplies there as well.
We're having one meal with my sister & BIL at some sort of restaurant, and a Chinese meal with my brother & SIL another night, then the wedding.
I know that I can get GF at the Chinese place, and the wedding. Not sure about the other one. Confused

BUT I am determined to survive this weekend without getting glutened and sick. Exclamation

HI Al,

I am missing fried fish too. Sad

Last Saturday night I decided to have my own fish fry. I bought some haddock and scallops from my local butcher.

I made a mix of Pamelas Ultimate Pancake & baking Mix with some corn meal, dipped the fish in milk then the flour mix and fried it up! Yum, the whole family ate GF that night! Very Happy

I also baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Cut french fries to top it off.(with the correct UPC code of course!)

Can you have Ore Ida French fries my boyfriend has been avoiding them?

Hi, I don't know if everyone already knows, but Legal Seafood has a separate printed up Celiac menu, you just need to ask the host(ess) or waiter. The L.S. here seems very accomodating and concerned, they even know about cross-contamination. Just watch out for the lump crab dip with seafood chips that is listed in the appetizer section. After I ordered this, the manager came out to tell me that the chef told him that the chips are fried in the same oil that non-GF stuff is fried in, so I switched to something else. So check before you order this.

Hey guys!
One of my boyfriend's co-workers was recently diagnosed with CD and so I am trying to help him and his family out as much as possible. They live in the Atlanta, GA area...Al, do you have a restaurant link to that area?
Any other info/help you guys could provide would be much appreciated, as I am in NJ and not all that close to Georgia!
Thanks in advance!! Wink
