They've recently adapted the recipe for the rice Chex to eliminate gluten from the ingredients.
I don't drink pop or caffeine for that matter. I have on several occasions witnessed a friend with CD drinking Coke, Sprite and her favorite rush of caffeine, Dr. Pepper.
It's best to get into the habit of contacting the manufacturers. There are some companies that clearly list gluten containing ingredients and those companies make shopping easy. All of that information can be found in the GF Diet Bootcamp thread under the General Discussion folder. I think you'll benefit tremendously from taking the time to read that thread. |

Hi Tired,
Welcome to the board!

I have to say that I'm not a big wine drinker, but the only wines that may not be GF are fortified wines.
I think you'd be safe with your Chard...as long as you don't drink too much of it. _________________ Al

Also be sure to aviod any unspecified starches: food starch, vegitable starch, and especially modified starches.
These are out of the safe zone to consume? |

I have been eating a lot of salads and cooking my own food, but I like going out to restaurants. I am just so frustrated. |
Hi I was just diagnosed today with Celiac. My gastro doc said there are no "stages" so to speak of Celiac. He did say i was not at a place where my small intestine is so damaged that gluten free won't help. I have to monitor my symptoms though. I too was very concerned about cross contamination, and he said try to do the best I can, and that a mix up will not affect the overall situation. I guess it depends on how severe your wheat allergy is. My symptoms are mainly gas and bloating. (possible IBS related as well) The paranoia was in full force a week ago, I feel better now. Just because one might not know one's consumed gluten it doesn't mean damage is not being done. Any form of gluten ingested, be it accidentally or intentionally, can trigger an autoimmune response. If one is celiac the only treatment is a gluten-free diet--that means that one needs to stay away from gluten containing foods and sources of likely cross contamination.
Celiac Disease is a gluten intolerance not a gluten allergy. While one person may exhibit physical responses and one might not when consuming gluten, damage is still being done to both people. Severity has nothing to do with it. |
