Well, since there's already a "introduce yourself" thread, I thought I'd start an oddities thread! Post some of your oddest/funniest traits/hobbies/whatever!
In my case, I'm double-jointed in my right hand. I can bend my thumb backwards so that it's perpendicular with my fingers. I'm also the only girl I know who's a "hardcore" gamer (I always get the oddest looks when I walk into a video game store). _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Well, I for one, am completely normal...it's everyone else who's odd.
Meanwhile, my two boys and husband have these weird, freaky inside out elbows. When they straighten their arms, their arms aren't flat, their elbows do some weird, freaky double jointed thing. ICK. I can't stand to look at them. |

You're not alone. I'm a hardcore gamer, too. More so than some of the girls in my school. Some play MMORPGs or other things like the Sims. But I go to Halo parties and play the MGS series and Final Fantasy or whatnot. It's more popular where I live, Iowa, but guys think it's cool that I can actually play a video game. *shrugs* _________________ ~Peach~

I have both.
I could bend both of my tumbs and my elbows are sticking out in oposite directions.
I don't think it is freaky ...
Thankfuly I have one head only

Tee-hee! I'm double-jointed, too!!! Hand/fingers, knees, etc.
Maybe it's a gluten thing!
I love to do kick-boxing, yoga, and Pilates...even though it's not that odd, my flexibility has definitely helped me in all of those arenas!
I have to admit: I used to play MMRPGs...yes, I was completely addicted to EQ back in the day--had a level 42 wizzie and a level 41 cleric... _________________ ~Torrey

LOL, good topic!
Hobbies: I collect old Barbies and I love to read and I love to scrapbook. I especially love to read a spooky mystery by a single lamp during a storm and/or watch an old classic B&W spooky show in the dark during a storm. I also collect the Dark Shadows DVD's. It was a show on during my childhood. LOL...I guess I AM pretty odd! :>)

I have always been wierd, and not afraid to admit it.
I know all the 50 united states in alphabetical order. I also sort my M&M's by color before eating them. I also have a tendency to memorize completely trivial facts for no aparent reason.
I think I need therapy. _________________ -Colleen

Do you eat the blue and green M&M's after all of the other colors are gone?

NO - I am even wierder than that. I sort them by color, count them, and eat them in descending order. I have always done this since I was a little kid. Maybe I have a touch of OCD or something. _________________ -Colleen

When I was younger I sorted them into sets, seperated out the green, ate any odd ones first, then ate the sets and the green ones last.
Now I just chow down on the whole bag, when I allow myself to have some. If I am snitching them from the kids though I steal the blues ones first and then the green. [/quote] _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

WOO, other people do this too! I always eat the red ones last, since they taste the best.
I'm glad there's other gamers out there! My husband and I played World of Warcraft for a looong time. Just quit recently and switched to RF Online. I'm not very good at FPS games (unless they involve one-hit kills ), but I'll try any other genre. I'm currently working on Kingdom Hearts II. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I got Kingdom Hearts earlier this week. I was really skeptical about getting it. I had it on reserve and everything, but since Prom is tomorrow I didn't know if I should be playing it. I heard how people got so addicted. _________________ ~Peach~

Wow, I finally figured out why I'm odd, I don't play ANY video games, haven't since Atari (yeah, I'm old to.) We also limit our 14 year olds to weekends only, they can play 1 hour and then have to stay off for 4 hours.
(Don't feel too sorry for them, when they go to their Mothers they play all weekend long and come home with slime on their teeth because they are too busy playing to brush, YUCK!)
This was at the suggestion of our Pediatrican who is from India or one of those countries. She states that video games are made in her country, but they don't play them there. That they were made for the purpose of destroying the youth of America. That we become addicted to them and it is slowly destroying the economy and inteligence of our people.
Don't know about all that but I know they are addictive, 2 summers ago before we started the rule the kids spent all summer in the dark, in their pajamas, in their rooms playing PS2. (Grandpa was babysitting, they would be playing when I left for work and playing when I got home) Now they actually leave the house to go fishing, play basketball, paintball etc and they have become great readers Both boys have almost completed the whole series of Brian Jacques Redwall books. (300-400 pages each and about 12 books in the series)
As for me I love to read and spend time in the woods. I also like hanging out here with all you wild and crazy people

Ah... I'm not the only M&M wacko! Yes I too sort by color and then eat the largest group first, then work my way down numerically and finish with the singletons last. My sis thinks I'm a nut job to do this, but it's compulsive. I feel weird if I just pop a mixed handful in my mouth.
I was also hooked on playing Resident Evil (the first two games) but then life got in the way and some how I stopped playing. I do still have an addiction to the Myst/Riven games though. Which I actually like better - no violence and a lot of thinking. I guess I just like the puzzle aspect of RPG's.
Peach, don't start the game till after your Prom! I know how addictive VG's can be - get junked afterwards... I think you're right to wait... (I'd ask you how Kingdom Hearts is, but I'm sure if you're playing that you're not on line here...)
Al, until you've been reeled in it's hard to understand just how addictive a new game can be - so much so that yes - you might even miss the prom to play! The first time I popped in RE in I think we played for 24 hours straight - no sleep! It's crazy... _________________ Cheers!
