Hey there everyone,

I just got off the phone with MAC because I use their make-up and I was curious about the lip products. They were very helpful, and almost all of their lip products don't contain gluten. That was such a huge relief.

The mineral makeup from Bare Minerals (Bare Escentuals) is also gluten-free, at least everything that I use. They are very helpful and will let you know if anything has gluten. As far as I know, the whole line is gluten-free.

Did you use regular make-up before? How do you like this. I really would like to try it but hesitate to buy something over the internet or HSN when its kind of expensive. The nearest store to me that carries their products is over 2 hours away. I was using clinque but it was making my eyes itch and get watery. My husband however would love for me to start wearing makeup again.

Yes, I used to use standard makeup a few years back, but it made my skin look horrible. I've been using Bare Minierals ever since and love it. I order it from QVC they have a great selection.

ROFL! Alyou are so funny. When I read that I wondered what you would say Shocked
I was interested in the Bare Minerals even as a non CD for now. I was told thattheskin reaction to gluten was not the norm? When I was panicing about all the gluten in school, bathroom stuff I was told not to worry? Question

Hi Mom,

Hehehehee. I decided to answer Kathy's post since she knows what kind of a goofball I am and would not be offended. Very Happy Some of the newer members may not know I tend to act up once in awhile [OK...much of the time].

For most people, there is not a skin reaction to touching gluten. It's generally not a problem. For some people, it can be a problem. Even for those that do not have Dermatitis Herpetiformis (the skin manifestation of CD that should not touch it).

What about gluten at school?? Yup - it could be a source of cross contamination. Crumbs on a desk, etc.

Shampoo and other toiletries do need to be checked out. Even though you are not ingesting them directly...it does get on your hands...there by transfered to food...then ingested.

I think it's the blue eye shadow, that's so 70's yah know. It also clashes with your hair, I would try shades of green. (Speaking as a natural red head).
