After a long day of cooking GF food, you deserve to do something nice for yourself. This is a recipe for those fizzy bath tablets that you pay big bucks for in the store. I give them as gifts, too, and everyone loves them.
Basic Bath Bombs
Dry Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid (I buy this in bulk at the HFS)
1/2 cup corn starch
Sieve dry ingredients til you get a nice smooth blend. (Optional: add 1/3 cup epsom salts or coarse sea salt after sieving, I haven't tried this)
Wet Ingredients:
2 1/2 T. sunflower or other light oil (I use sweet almond oil)
3/4 T. water
1 to 2 teaspoons essential oils or fragrance oils (my favorite is 1/2 lavender and 1/2 ylang ylang)
1/4 teaspoon borax as an emulsifier (from the laundry asile in the grocery store)
vegetable or other natural colorant (optional - don't try to use regular food coloring. It has too much water in it and will also stain your tub)
Combine wet ingredients and borax in a jar. Cover tightly and shake vigorously. Drizzle onto dry ingredients and blend thoroughly.
Pack tightly into moulds and slide out. I use a 1/2 cup measuring cup. Seems to be the right amount for me. You can get fancier ones at the craft store too. They should release easily. Allow to dry overnight. Your house will smell great!
Happy bathing! _________________ -Colleen

I was expecting this thread to be more about, "So... I got sick in a public restroom and stank the place up - what's the proper etiquette for exiting the stall gracefully?"
This actual topic for fizzy bath salt balls is MUCH nicer...
Still laughing... _________________ Cheers!
