I'm looking to either buy or make some GF cocktail and tartar sauces, if anyone knows a recipe for one or both or why to buy GF versions it would be greatly appreciated.
I figured out fried shrimp now I just need something to dip them in! |

| I found that Ken's Cocktail Sauce works well for me. Unlike many of the other cocktail sauces that have soy sauce w/ wheat, Ken's does not. I get mine in Shaw's in the Deli/Seafood section. Good luck! |

Try making your red cocktail sauce from heinz ketchup, it is GF add a little fresh lemon juice (squeeze to taste) zest some of the rind also. Mix a little Braggs Liquid amino, or the SAN J wheat free tamari in with it. grate some fresh horseradish. Dice some fresh scallions/green onions to top & you got some sauce for your shrimp.
For tarter sauce- Use Best foods Mayonnaise/or Hellmann's mayonnaise, use fresh lemon juice & dice up some Vlasic (supposed to be GF) pickles
Use some fresh tarragon Herb to taste/ Kosher salt & fresh cracked pepper (Albertson's & Goodday Labels) carry GF seasonings. Give this a try if your up to cooking....but then again read labels & learn...it's a struggle I know, but if you stumble across something you can make & taste good to. It's great & cheape. |
