My husband and I are pursuing a few different business options because it looks as though returning to foundry work will not be a long-term option when he can go back to work. (He had his foot and ankle rebuilt in March)

One of the options we are considering is a gluten-free Bed and Breakfast. We are wondering, though, if this would really be something that is of interest to people living GF. It would not be a B&B where we would serve GF food when needed...it would be a dedicated kitchen where NO gluten is allowed ever. This would allow a vacationer to be able to stay at a safe place and relax knowing their food won't be contaminated. Ditto for their sheets washed in GF soap, their toiletries being GF, etc...

We think this might possibly be of interest to other GF people. What do you think?

i think it's a great idea, but if you want a lot of business, i would be careful about the wording. when someone hears 'gluten-free' (who isn't) they might think, 'well, what in the heck would we eat?' i mean, obviously you could give them great, delicious breakfasts, but would they know that? i bake and cook all the time, and unless people know me, a lot of people won't try some thing... 'that bread is made with WHAT?', but it tastes the exact same! Smile

anyway... i'd come to your bed and breakfast. Smile

We are in Ohio. Right in the heart of Ohio wine country, among other wonderful things! We also have an Amish area, not too far from Cleveland and its attractions, water parks, theme parks, state parks, etc...

It is a "something for everyone" area and very lovely.

Ohhhh..... then I'd definitely visit!!

We just went through Ohio a few weeks ago. I have very fond memories of "Grandpa's Cheese Barn" in Ashland. My grandparents used to take my sister and I there twice a year. My grandma would always purchase our Christmas ornaments there.

We stopped on the way through, and it's quite different from what I remember, as I've not been there in 9 years.... but, the upstairs was still very much the same. We bought a lot of goodies for the road for my dh, and gifts for my grandpa. =)

Sorry, that was just a trip down memory lane!
