Well, I finally found a dr. that believes food can cause health problems. He took an IgG blood test. I am now allergic to eggs, milk, coffee, alfalfa, yeast, onions, black & white pepper and a few things I would'nt eat on a bet. I have a real hard time with fruits because of the fruittose. And the cd the drs. say I don't have still seems to be there. I am still losing weight 40# +. Does anyone have breakfast ideas for me. I tried some cereal this morning with soy milk. It did'nt go over well! help!!!!

Carey check out this thread on hot cereal. I think the plain might be okay for you or maybe even the Chai Almond...
Also I found some contacts for you in Idaho: Celiac Support Groups in Idaho, USA They might be able to help you out and let you connect with local celiacs.
Sorry about the coffee allergy! _________________ Cheers!

Alone - in - Idaho,
Boy that's not good to be alone.
Hope you find someone local with a shoulder to lean on. I don't know anyone around me with CD and I have a very limited diet too. I am just starting out and feels kinda lonely here on the West coast too. But I am going to a conference this month and hopefully get connected locally. This forum has been great for me because it's been the only place for me to turn too.
Stay in good cheer - I'm pulling for you!

I will have to look at that more closely - staying away from sugars and I still wonder about Quinoa for me??? But I have few options. Then if I can't use soy, rice, almond, dairy milk what do I use? I have been experimenting with goat milk but not sure on that yet. |

Is the weight loss a good or bad thing? If it's a good thing, puffed rice is low cal. If you don't want to loose more weight, try cocoa or fruity pebbles or fruity dyno mites (malt o meal brand, cocoa dyno bites have malt flavor so no good). _________________ Lauren

Has your doctor explored a leaky gut problem (i.e. proteins from food leaking out through the intestinal lining and causing hypersensitivity)?
I'm allergic to many different allergens.
I was diagnosed with leaky gut after I tested positive for 11 out of 12 tested foods with many level 1s that shouldn't have tested positively.
Essentially with leaky gut, a CD or GF person has experienced initial damage from the gluten. Then things like stress or antibiotics damage or destroy entirely the gut/intestinal flora (good bacteria) that protect the lining of the stomach and intestine. This isn't the same as the villi damage caused by gluten. Instead, these bacteria provide all the healthy goop that keeps proteins from "leaking out."
After the damage is done, the person becomes hypersensitive to almost everything - especially foods - and starts to have "reactions" to what he/she eats.
Your doctor would do a leaky gut IgG panel and would look at your history (i.e. any history of high stress, antibiotic usage, GI problems, or bleeding).
How is it healed? A pro-biotic lines the intestine with other types of "good" bacteria that helps mimic the original gut flora and may even promote the gut flora's colony re-growth.
Also, if you find yourself craving a lot of sweets as I was, you might want to ask your doctor to investigate the possibility of an overgrowth of Candida albicans. In my case, candida was also attributing to my leaky gut after years of intense stress and heavy antibiotic usage.
How is that treated? Fluconazole (brand name Diflucan) and sugar elimination diet.
As for weight loss and breakfast foods. I too am going through the weight loss problem: 120 down to 109 and 5'3". My doctor is concerned that if I get a cold this autumn that the weight loss could be even more damaging to my immune system. So, keep in mind that while your body is healing, gaining weight is a GOOD thing b/c if you get sick when your immune system is trying to recover and balance out you'll have a little "extra" to fight with. As for breakfast foods: you may want to consider a protein or carbohydrate powder to add to a fruit smoothie.
Hope this info helps and good luck!! _________________ J. |

I have multiple multiple food allergies too and breakfast is definitely the hardest. I found these great waffles at whole foods that are glueten free, egg free, dairy free and yeast free, I put soy butter on them and they actually taste like waffles!
I agree that you should get tested for leaky gut and candida because you sound like a classic case, and though the diet to get rid of the candida sux you feel amazing when its actually gone |
