I modified this recipe from a scone recipe I got from another site. The recipe makes 6 large scones, but I think next time I will make them into 8 smaller ones. Great for breakfast with tea or hot chocolate (we don't do coffee in our house, so you will have to be the judge there Very Happy ) Bear with me on the picture - I am not a photographer.

2 cups basic Bette Hagman GF mix (1 part rice flour [I use brown] , 2/3 part potato starch, 1/3 part tapioca starch.)
7 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum
6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small cubes
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
3 tablespoons milk
1 egg
Glaze (see below)

Combine dry ingredients in the bowl of a food processor and pulse to combine. pulse in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin, milk and egg. Pour in dry ingredients and stir well to combine. Refrigerate 1/2 hour. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Plop the dough onto the parchment paper, and pat with a wet hand into a 12" diameter disc. Score the top into 6 or 8 sections. Bake in preheated oven approximately 20 minutes, or until lightly brown. Remove from oven and cut along score lines with a pizza cutter. slide parchment paper onto a rack to cool completely. Glaze if desired.

Plain glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk

Spiced glaze
generous 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teapoon pumpkin pie spice

Brush scones with a coating of plain glaze and allow to dry completely (1 hour). Drizzle with spiced glaze.

I got impatient with mine and didn't let the plain glaze dry completely so the spiced glaze doesn't stand out like I wanted it to. next time I will try to be more patient. Very Happy
