Well it is never too soon to start thinking about it.... even though our daughter was just diagnosed last week.

We will be spending a week in Shanghai and a week in Hong Kong later this year, and I guess we will ask a lot of questions and bring what we can etc.

I know we can get a lot of rice and rice dishes there - but of course it will ALL be from restaurants.

Any thoughts?

PS - My partner (spouse) is Chinese, so the language won't be a problem

Hi Amy,

How cool is that??!!?!!!

I don't know a great deal about China...other than most soy sauce is out. The other issue is cross contamination. I've learned that woks are generally not wash because it destroys the seasoning of them...which would be a huge CC risk.

You might have hubby check this out: http://www.celiactravel.com/gluten-free-cards/25-mandarin.html

I've spent some time in Shanghai, let me dig around a bit to see what I can find for you (it's been a couple of years since the last time I was there - though I think I maybe going back again in Feb.)

VERY cool. I have been waiting 16 years to go though my partner goes every few years to visit relatives. But now it is time for our kids to meet some of their extended family overseas.

And how cool are YOU for providing me with Chinese GF restaurant cards?

I'm begining to think you really do know everything!
