Deb - Part of the reason your thick hair waves when it is long is because the weight of your hair pulls the hair follicle into an oval. Oval shaped hair follicles create waves. My hair is far below my waist and the longer and heavier it is, the wavier it is. When I was younger and it was to my shoulders it was straight as a pin. If you cut it, it would be wavy but most likely would not corkscrew. Although that might be an interesting look! Wink

I have not noticed changes in my hair - except for maybe it is not as dry as it was before - I had a really dry scalp before going GF. But I have not noticed hair loss any greater than what is my norm when I brush.

I am still going through all the brochures and information from the New York Symposium.

In an extensive Pamphlet put out by Schar in Italy titled "The Coeliac Condition in Children and Adolescents" they have a page which lists symptoms and deficiencies. One of the symptoms of Celiac disease in children and adolescents is HAIR LOSS. This is due to a deficiency in Zinc per the pamphlet.

If you go to the doctor, you might ask him concerning the relation of Zinc and hair loss and whether a blood indicates a deficiency of zinc.

As for me, my hair has never fallen out like this year after being diagnosed CD. It is worrying.... Crying or Very sad
