With all these different things I have gone through in my life I have always woundered- Do you think that before we were born that we sat down and planned out our own paths, of everything that was to happen to us on earth? I always thought that I am so confident and hard headed that I probably thought oh I can handle that, fact is I can handle twice that amount. Because not being humans before we probably did'nt know how hard some of this stuff really would be! Fact is most of my life I always would joke about when I die, I would be the one who would go right up to god and tell him what he did wrong and how to fix it better next time. O.k you win. I don't know all you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway you might think me crazy, but I was just woundering if anyone else thinks this way? carey _________________ Dear Lord, Please help me help my stupid self. |

That's a very interesting viewpoint. I'm thinking this may have been better suited to the religious forum on here.
I am clinging to my faith that God planned out the making of our universe, and that he planned on each and every one of us. He make us each unique, right down to our individual fingerprints. He made us each for a plan and a purpose, and if we give our lives over to Him fully, that He can use us each in a powerful way to influence those around us and accomplish His perfect will.
Just think how each and every one of us can be a unique help to the celiac community - to support and encourage each other! What a blessing we have the potential to be to each other!
(((((((((((aloneinidaho?))))))))))))))))))))) keep on postin, Carey- you might feel like you are alone in idaho, but you've got us, and I enjoy your posts. _________________ Is ferret meat gluten-free? |

Well, knowing my 'nature' I know God thinks that I always try to run things first and then come crawling back like the rebellious child that I am. Hopefully He will still have patience with me to learn my lessons well!
Since you asked for what we believe, I won't hold back my opinion and I will respect others opinions and hope that they do the same for me.
I believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Joesph that is spoken of in the Holy Bible. I believe that God's word was given to men to write down for us. According to the scriptures, we are told that God knew us from before the foundation of the world and that He picked the time and place of our life on earth. He has a purpose for each one of us, it is just up to us if we want to comply or try to 'go it alone'.
I choose to try and follow His leading...........which sometimes I goof up or fuss as I walk along, but hopefully I am doing what I am supposed to be doing almost all of the time.......Haven't reached perfection yet.
I have always liked to help people and believe it or not, some good has actually come out of me having to learn to be gluten free and even corn free. (I am trusting that with my new restriction learning, that good will come from that as well.) I never would have been one to speak before a group of strangers, but since learning how to cook to our diet, I have address groups of new Celiac persons or their family members. I have talked long distance on the phone with people to help them learn how to cook and how to seek answers.
I also believe that God knows how many hairs are on our heads.........of course MrP and I keep Him busy with the 'subtraction' equations. LOL
This should be an interesting read of each other's points of view. Thanks! _________________

I agree with SIHAD: this should probably be moved.
That being said, I consider myself agnostic now. I keep finding too many faults with religion. I still respect others and their religious viewpoints though. I find it hard to believe I'd pick a body with this many problems, so I'm hoping it just happened that way. Somebody's going to get an earful if it's otherwise.

Years ago I read a book by Bette Eadie think it was Touched by the Light or something like that in which she described one of those white light experiences. She wrote that we choose who we come to earth as and what our purpose is, of course once we are born we forget making that choice and we live our lives based upon free will. I remember her saying that some times we choose to be handicapped or say an alcoholic, not because of a lesson we need to learn but to be a lesson to someone else. In any case it was interesting to think about. So I would agree that we choose to come here and had a lesson to learn, but I think that we don't always get it right and so we return more than once.
And to Al and Os, yes to both of you, that's why I keep my religious discussions to an occasional answer to a post on my favorite CD board. And since my husband, employer and job are all related.... I save all the rest of my energy for trying to participate happily with him. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

Religon is like baskin robins theres a flavor for everyone. I did'nt believe in god as a teen, but then I thought I would rather believe in god and die and find out he did'nt exist than to not believe in him only to die and find out he does exist. To me too many wars have been fought all in the name of religion. I don't care what anyones beliefs are. Just was woundering what you guys thought of how we came to our destinations. carey _________________ Dear Lord, Please help me help my stupid self. |

Torrey - Thanks, but the lyrics aren't mine. You can check out the artist over here. In the upper left corner there's a music player. Hit the skip buttons until it gets to I'll Follow You Into the Dark. The video is also up on YouTube (might want to get a box of tissues before looking for it).
Al - All those problems together are so much smaller than the problems caused by religion. You can:
Help yourself and others work on their faults
Quit your job
Find a new boss/employer
Make new friends
Buy new CDs
All these problems are workable. You can't fix religion.
But again, I respect other religious viewpoints as long as they don't hurt anybody. Remember, this is all just my opinion.  _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

LOL - My old celiac disease is worn out...can I get a new one?? I made a typo -I was referring to our CD Discussion Board.
Os, We will get no where in discussing this. There is good found in religion. If you choose to believe otherwise...that's cool. No sweat off my nose. I will make one final comment on this...
As I see it, the problems "caused" by religion are generated by mankind, so your beef really should be with humanity. _________________ Al

No. But I do believe that He has my life planned out for me.
I am a deeply faithful person. There are certain aspects of religion that I may or may not agree with, on the whole - but my relationship with God is never in question.
I believe that I was blessed with these three wonderful children, who have very specific and special needs, because He knew I could handle it. I believe that I deal with the same issues so I can be a better advocate for my children, since I also walk in their footsteps.
It makes me feel really good to know that He trusts me with these little lives, that I've been chosen to guard, during their time on this earth. |

ROFL, sorry about that! Blame it on my departing head cold.
I'm sorry if I upset you or anybody else, Al. I really didn't mean to. I know my religious beliefs aren't very popular. But they're still my beliefs. I was just offering my opinion on the subject. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I'm sure your religious beliefs are FAR MORE popular than mine! I couldn't resist...although I did resist. Yes, I'm patting myself on my back.
