CC's Microwave Pralines
My friend from New Orleans gave me the praline recipe below. She thinks this recipe makes the best pralines ever and I have to agree. This is praline season...do yourself a favor and make them today!
1 lb. box of light brown sugar
1 cup whipping cream
2 tabsp. unsalted butter
2 cups pecan halves or pieces
"Place sugar and cream in a glass heat-resistant bowl. Microwave on high for 13 minutes. Immediately stir in butter and pecans until butter is melted. Do not beat. Quickly drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper or aluminum foil. Cool completely and store in airtight container.
NOTE: All microwaves have different HI speeds. You may need to adjust the timimg accordingly, but have no fear if you should overcook the mixture and are unable to pour it because it hardens too quickly, just break it into small chunks. Then stir into your favorite premium quality vanilla ice cream and top with a splash of Praline Liqueur for a fabulous dessert!! This recipe yields a very rich creamy praline and is the only way I make them now!!" |
